Job Description:
Responsibilities May Include:
- Performing weekly and monthly pipeline samples
- Understanding the methods of pipeline measurement
- Working closely with the Measurement, I&E, and Mechanical groups
- Interfacing with other internal, external and third-party industry related contacts/resources
- Ensuring accurate and timely completion of paperwork
- Responding promptly and effectively to customer needs
- Responding to emergencies and assisting in maintaining emergency equipment
- Completing mandated safety and regulatory training
- Maintaining effective and professional relationships with pipeline customers, peers, and vendors
- Performing environmental, company, and regulatory tasks as necessary
- Participates in available cross training to effectively develop skills
- Performing troubleshooting, repairs, inspections, and replacement of equipment as necessary:
- Threaded pipe and fittings
- Process tubing and fittings
- Valves, filters, and strainers
- Relief devices
- Performing routine pipeline maintenance:
- Operator rounds and site housekeeping
- Inspect and evaluate buried and exposed pipe
- Launch and receive pigging tools
- Operating and maintaining valves
- Performing damage prevention:
- Conducting one-calls and line locating
- On site monitoring of 3rd party encroachments and crossings
- Maintaining and repairing pipeline right of way
- Interfacing with general public, landowners, and first responders
Required Qualifications:
- Legally authorized to work in the United States without restrictions
- High School Diploma/GED equivalent
- Valid driver’s license
- Willing and able to perform and comply with following, with or without reasonable accommodation:
- Climb up vertical and A-frame ladders
- Lift minimum of 50lbs
- Push and pull forces up to 100lbs
- Operate a forklift
- Tow pipeline trailers and equipment
- Respond to emergency calls as needed
- Remain on call as needed
- Work extended hours on an as-needed basis
- Work in enclosed spaces
- Work with chemicals and bases
- Wear personal protective equipment
- Wear respirator / face mask can seal properly
- Work outside in harsh weather conditions
- Work with hydrocarbons that are under high pressure and heat
- Work in 3rd party facilities and state properties
- Live/relocate withing 45 minutes of Alvin Office
- Obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Card (TWIC).
Preferred Qualifications:
- 2+ Years of applicable experience with pipeline operations
- 2+ Years of experience in the oil and gas industry or military
- General knowledge of mechanical and rotating equipment
- General knowledge of pipeline I&E and automation
- General knowledge of pipeline measurement practices
