Job Description:
The roles and responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to the following:
- Manages various Reliability Condition Monitoring programs for the operated fleet of around 30 Oil Tankers and LNG Carriers, including but not limited to the following:
- Vibration Monitoring Program (offline and online)
- Lube Oil Analysis Program
- Boiler Water and Cooling Water Programs
- Thermography, Ultrasound and Shaft Alignment
- Coordinates with various external service providers and fosters collaborative relationships while successfully managing the listed Condition Monitoring programs.
- Coordinates Diesel Engines cylinder oil and system lube oil field testing programs with Chevron Oronite and Chevron Lubricants.
- Regularly audits program activities to determine the results of the reliability improvement program, with the objectives of extending equipment life, improving reliability and availability and reducing maintenance and repair costs.
- Monitors emerging technologies and assesses their potential to enhance reliability programs, condition monitoring tools, and predictive analysis for continuous improvement.
- Supports Oil/Gas Fleet teams and vessel management teams as an SME for technical issues.
- Leads or acts as a team member for technical incident investigations requiring vessel operational/technical knowledge.
- Acts as Asset Owner for assigned onboard equipment/systems, responsible for managing maintenance strategies, operating procedures, CMMS job plan reviews, technical support for critical fleetwide issues related to the assigned equipment/systems.
- Manages or supports special technical projects as needed.
- Collaborates and builds trusting relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marine/Mech Engineering, Naval Architecture or Equivalent experience.
- Seagoing experience in a senior engineer rank.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 7+ years of experience in Marine Industry
- Experience on LNG carriers
- Knowledge of and demonstrated ability with Asset Condition Monitoring technologies equipment and software (Vibration, Thermography, Ultrasound, Oil Analysis, etc.)
- Certification and/or Experience in Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM), Condition Monitoring programs, diagnostics and prognostics analysis
- Strong computer skills with ability to use MS Office Suite and vendor Reliability Technologies software.
- Ability to analyze and organize data into information, make a series of alternatives, and develop a recommendation.
- Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to work independently or with diverse teams.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
