Responsibilities:
The role provides proactive support and intervention to promote a positive employee relations culture, while partnering collaboratively with various cross-functional stakeholders (e.g., Labor Relations, HR Business Partners, Compliance, Legal, etc.). The Advisor will serve as a labor relations subject matter expert to support business unit leaders with employees covered by a collective bargaining agreement (CBA). They will effectively manage a caseload of grievances and workplace inquiries while assisting leaders with coaching, corrective actions, and terminations. This role requires meeting case management metrics, such as closing cases within a certain timeframe and following established CBA and case management processes.
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience including, but not limited to the following:
- Direct experience interacting with labor unions and advising on labor relations matters. Experience must include management and disposition of grievances; participation in labor arbitrations and collective bargaining is a plus.
- Direct experience managing, advising, and resolving employee relations cases (e.g., performance management, attendance, employee misconduct, employee complaints, discipline and termination).
- Experience conducting workplace investigations and utilizing case management systems (i.e., Salesforce)
- Knowledge of federal labor and employment laws, rules, and regulations.
- Ability to travel as needed (may include plane travel)
