Job Responsibilities May Include: 

  • Oil Spill Response Plan/Program
  • Annual Review of Facility Response Plan
  • Drill Coordination including
  • USCG/OSPR required 3-year exercise schedule
  • Worst Case Discharge Triennial Drill
  • Emergency Response Drill Planning
  • Schedule and manage all required Emergency Response Drills for site
  • Schedule and facilitate Incident & Drill Critiques
  • Site focal point/contact for regulatory agencies including Local, State and Federal
  • Emergency Response Rosters and Training Records
  • Maintain training records monthly, quarterly, and annually
  • Maintain training and medical requirement tracking spreadsheet for all responders
  • Ensuring training programs for all ER teams, and EOC meets regulatory requirements
  • ER Training Schedule & Notifications Including:
  • Training Tracking and scheduling software
  • Communicate Live Fire Notifications to internal (Environmental, Security, External Relations, etc.) and external regulatory agencies (BAAQMD, CCCHZT, CCCFD, CCC Sheriff, etc.) on the day prior to Live Fire Training
  • Emergency Operations Center
  • Responsible for ensuring EOC responders are trained and available to fulfill critical EOC roles
  • Scheduling of ICS Training Courses
  • Manage the EOC Duty Schedule for critical EOC roles
  • Maintain/Update Reference material for Incident Command Systems in EOC and online
  • Train and develop as the site IAP Software Focal Point
  • Conducts and documents critiques for all refinery responses and provides results to the Fire Chief
  • Site Evacuation Procedure Focal Point
  • Plan and coordinate drills based on regulatory requirements
  • County Notifications for planned Evacuation Drills
  • Manage Evacuation Area Monitors

Position Specific Requirements:

  • Work Schedule:
  • Position is a 9/80 schedule
  • Participate in maintenance, callout, and standby coverage as needed
  • Physical Requirements:
  • Climb ladders
  • Walk up and down steps
  • Complete an Emergency Response physical agility test annually
  • Work in the Following Conditions:
  • Work at heights
  • Work in compact and confined spaces
  • Work outside in inclement weather

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Associate degree in Fire Science, Law Enforcement, Emergency Management discipline, or equivalent work experience
  • 5+ years of emergency response experience (in plant or from outside resources)
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Products
