Job Description:
What You’ll Do (Responsibilities)
- You will be responsible for daily interface and coordination of all facilities/plant engineering and project related activities for the SW/PE Team to ensure high quality and timely delivery within a 2,300,000 SF 158Ac site.
- Maintain all regulatory and corporate safety requirements i.e. OHSA, Air Quality, WAH, TSSA, CWB, etc.
- Work with outside agencies to ensure GMCC meets requirement. This could be at the Local, Provincial or Federal Level.
- Drives successful planning and execution of future projects through GMC NPP ( Non-Portfolio Project) process.
- Coordinated Local PS (Performance Standard) committees i.e. PS3- Falls Hazard Control (WAH), PS16 – Facilities Safety Management, PS17 Fire and Explosion Control. PS13-TS 15 Indoor Air Quality, PS13-TS 16 Process Ventilation Systems.
- 4000 Account Champion – coordinate energy meeting, savings and implement.
- Project management – developing project management requirements, plans, cost estimates, tendering process, award and execution. This will be in an extremely complex manufacturing environment to time sensitive schedules.
- Resolve conflicts between OBC (Ontario Building Codes) and Corporate standards2.
- Responsible for supporting the workspace transformation projects by actively engaging with the Space Planning team in the change management process.
- Ensuring issue and resolution of daily tenant needs and longer term projects by pulling in the required resources such as Engineering, Resource Management, Communications, Real Estate, Food and Administration Services.
- Responsible to ensure the Service Provider is meeting our GM Global Safety standards (SCM – Safety Contract Management), including: Speak up for Safety, Global Call to Action, Safety Observation Tours, employee safety concerns, incident investigation, safety module compliance, and sentinel events.
- Passionately communicate the benefit of the operations teams throughout the value streams in manufacturing and non-manufacturing.
- Drive attainment of daily facility operational goals on the campus (enabling consistent facility management, maintenance, energy supply, cleanliness, environmental compliance and material handling initiatives).
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (mechanical) or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in facility / plant engineering design.
- Ability to manage projects related to facility maintenance, upgrades and renovations, including budgeting, scheduling and coordination of resources.
- High level of analytical skills to evaluate and resolve operational problems while working independently.
- Proficiency in CAD software, MS-Office tools and knowledge of building codes and regulations.
W hat Can Give You a Competitive Advantage (Preferred Qualifications)
- P. Eng (Ontario) designation is a desirable asset.
- PMP (Project Management Professional) designation is a desirable asset.
- RSW (Registered Specification Writer) or member of Specifications Canada is a desirable asset.
