Job Description:

The position of Finance Manager is open in our Cassinetta, Varese site. The Finance Manager will take ownership of all day-to-day accounting, statutory and regulatory tasks in relation to a new Italian legal entity whose primary purpose is to support research and development of the global product organization of Whirlpool. This is a wide ranging role which will give the successful candidate exposure to many aspects of financial accounting and tax work.

Your responsibilities will include

More specifically, the main tasks and responsibilities of this person will include:

  • Day-to-day accounting, including accruals and accounts payable process
  • Monthly reporting under US GAAP
  • Preparation and submission of VAT returns and statistical returns as required
  • Annual financial statement preparation under Italian GAAP
  • Coordination of annual tax return compliance (tax return preparation is outsourced)
  • Coordination of external audit processes along with preparation of external audit deliverables, where necessary.
  • Preparation of annual budgets and monthly outlooks for the Italian GPO organization
  • Provide ad hoc support for group wide projects that impact the Italian legal entity, such as providing interim accounts and projections.
  • There will be no direct team to manage

Minimum requirements

As a Finance Manager at Whirlpool, we seek candidates with the following key competencies and qualifications:

  • Experience & Language Skills: We are seeking candidates with 3-5 years of experience at the finance manager level. Please note that the hiring manager is based in the US; therefore, when submitting your CV, ensure it is in English. Additionally, the interview will be conducted in English.
  • Financial Acumen: Proficiency in accounting principles and financial reporting is vital for effective management of financial data and reporting processes.
  • Deadline-Oriented: A proactive approach to meet challenging objectives and tight deadlines is essential. Success in this role requires prioritization and efficiency.
  • Italian GAAP Expertise: A deep understanding of Italian GAAP statutory and regulatory reporting is fundamental for compliance with Italian accounting standards and regulations.
  • Educational Background: The ideal candidate holds a university degree in accounting and has at least five years of relevant experience. Experience in a similarly-sized international organization is a plus.
  • Tech Proficiency: Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required.
  • Team Player: Demonstrating strong teamwork and interpersonal skills is vital for collaboration within diverse teams and building external relationships.
  • Self-Reliant: The candidate should be a self-starter capable of working independently, taking ownership of tasks and responsibilities.

Preferred skills and experiences

  • US GAAP Advantage: While not mandatory, prior experience with US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) is advantageous for navigating financial reporting requirements.
  • SAP experience is advantageous for effective financial management and reporting.
