Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct all aspects of investigations that will include interpreting allegations, collecting relevant data in support of fact finding and analysis, conducting investigative interviews, drawing sound conclusions based on thorough assessments, and development of facts.
  • Ability to effectively summarize evidence gathered and present concerns in an accurate, detail-oriented, and easy to understand case summary and report. 
  • Ensure proper adherence to investigative standards, case aging protocols and report writing.
  • Communicate investigation results to line management and other business partners throughout the investigative process.
  • Escalate business issues identified during investigations, and partnering with other business units, Global Risk Management, Legal Affairs, and Internal Audit, as necessary.  
  • Build trust and relationships to be able to act as a reliable and trusted resource for employees to escalate concerns.
  • Develop documents to support external prosecutions or recovery proceedings, where appropriate.
  • Assist with other GIU initiatives as needed.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:

 

Required:

  • A minimum of seven years of experience in the areas of litigation, prosecutorial, investigations, proactive fraud detection, employment law, or regulatory experience, including familiarity within the insurance and financial services industry.
  • Sound judgment and discretion; possesses a governance, risk, and control mindset with strong ethical standards.
  • Advanced knowledge of insurance related matters and non-financial risks, including customer protection/sales practice, internal fraud, and other conduct risks.  
  • Ability to investigate and resolve less common, highly complex, or sensitive cases.
  • Advanced analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Advanced leadership skills with the ability to establish credibility, create partnerships, and build relationships at all levels. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to deliver effective presentations to all audiences.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate with team members, possess strong project management and organizational skills, and be capable of handling multiple projects at one time.
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Cultural fluency and ability to work effectively with a diverse, global population.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.

 

Preferred:

  • Juris Doctor with a license in good standing to practice law in at least one U.S. state preferred.
  • Fluency in a foreign language(s) a plus.
