Lead Director, Sales Compensation Plan Design and Strategy @ CVS Health

Job Description:

You will accomplish this through:

  • 20% of time focused on compensation committee meeting planning – this includes scheduling, creating agendas, meeting materials and other supporting documentation.
  • 20% of time focused on actual facilitation of compensation committee meetings – this means the actual running of the meetings including facilitating compensation design
  • 30% of time focused on compensation design and modeling for compensation committee meetings.  This includes brainstorming solutions to compensation challenges, gathering data, and modeling options.
  • 30% of time focused on direct participation in various off-cycle comp design needs that come up including development/evaluation of contests and spiffs, reviewing comp plan exception requests, and policy development related to comp designs.  These often require many of the same forms of work as mentioned above including coming up with recommendations, modeling, etc.  Depending on the scope of the decision, sometimes this role would unilaterally make the design decision, others may require review and approval by comp committees, and major scope decisions may require senior leadership approvals.

Required Qualifications:

  • At least 10 years of overall relevant experience with strong knowledge of: sales compensation best practices, general compensation best practices, and sales operating models
  • At least 5 years in financial modeling
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong presentation skills to be comfortable presenting to SVP level and above leaders
  • Proven ability to manage good business relationship, lead comp committees, and navigate disagreement as needed with other committee members who are frequently VP level and above
  • Willingness to travel; up to 10% (including airplane)

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of Sales Incentive Compensation Administration Software Tools such as Callidus, Varicent and Xactly
  • People management to manage and coach others that will also be participating in sales compensation design or administration processes

 

Education:

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience; advanced degree is a plus
