Learning Product Owner @ Southwest Airlines

Job Description:

Responsibilities

    • Prepare work items for assigned Product space and prioritize which work items are the most critical for project success
    • Serve as the customer proxy for work items in your Product Space
    • Build, refine, prioritize, and maintain the work activities within your Product space
    • Partner in LSP sessions for planning, iteration reviews, and betas
    • Help create test cases and define acceptance criteria
    • Review and validate change requests as complete
    • Contribute to research and development in your product space
    • Meet with stakeholders to ensure features and requirements meet expectations
    • Drive iteration content by prioritizing most important requirements and changes
    • May perform other job duties as directed by Employee’s Leaders

    • Ability to make decisions with minimal guidance and oversight
    • Ability to be organized with strong attention to detail and capable of coordinating multiple work streams into a single message
    • Ability to understand technical issues
    • Skilled in analytics and problem solving with a high attention to detail
    • Ability to anticipate risks, issues and opportunities, and escalate them accordingly
    • Skilled in presentation, facilitation, communication, and negotiation with horizontal teams and leadership
    • Ability to be comfortable and articulate in challenging change management scenarios, knowing when to insert self and when to fade back
    • Knowledge in LSP processes including the value and principles, and how they are applied in learning solutions
    • Ability to manage work in Kanban

Education

    • Required: High School Diploma or GED

Experience

    • Intermediate-level experience, fully functioning broad knowledge in:
      • Agile and Scrum software development methodologies
      • Business analysis, project management training development delivering enterprise products and solutions
    • Preferred: Knowledge of Southwest’s Operational Systems (ARD, CM, CM360, Netracer, SWABank, etc.)

    • N/A

Physical Abilities

    • Ability to perform work duties from [limited space work station/desk/office area] for extended periods of time
    • Ability to communicate and interact with others in the English language to meet the demands of the job
    • Ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed and accuracy to meet the demands of the job

Other Qualifications

    • Must maintain a well-groomed appearance per Company appearance standards as described in established guidelines
    • Must be a U.S. citizen or have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986
    • Must be at least 18 years of age
    • Must be able to comply with Company attendance standards as described in established guidelines
