ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES: WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Technical Leadership: Provide technical leadership and guidance to engineers while participating in interviewing/hiring new talent.
- Improving systems: Lead research, engineering, and innovation to improve developer experience.
- Coding: Write high-quality, maintainable code in accordance with coding standards and best practices.
- Solution Oriented: Analyze complex technical problems and propose innovative solutions.
- DevOps: Devise new DevOps practices to address key problems and ensuring we are ready to scale 10x.
- Metrics Oriented: Create new metrics to represent developer experience, beyond our Lead Time to Production and Deployment Frequency metrics.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with various engineering teams on related tech projects.
How you’ll go about it:
- Broad experience in modern cloud based SaaS ecosystem.
- Experience designing and building to scale software to handle 10x load increases and 100x peak traffic spikesInfluencing and strengthening team culture while identifying areas for improvement.
- Demonstrate technical excellence through hands-on involvement in projects and continuous learning.
- Maintain open and clear communication and foster a collaborative work environment with team members, stakeholders, and management.
- Continuously drive technical innovation and improvements across multiple teams.
- Hands-on coding experience.
- “Platform as a product” mindset and strategic thinking about the product roadmap.
ROLE REQUIREMENTS: WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
- Bachelor’s or higher degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- 10+ yrs of experience in software engineering or a relevant technical role; building and designing scalable applications in a distributed system.
- Strong proficiency in programming languages and frameworks.
- Deep understanding in DevOps tools and technologies such as AWS (CDK, ECS, Fargate etc.), Sentry, DataDog, Docker, Gitlab CI, K8S, Flagger, Linkerd, as well as deployment automation (CI/CD pipelines, feature flags, blue/green and canary deployments).
