What a Procurement Engineer does at HP:

Manages global engineering relationship with one or more key suppliers of external components and materials for the development and manufacturing of a product.
Reviews and evaluates supplier designs, processes, and activities for compliance with Company manufacturing guidelines, quality processes, and standards.
Provides tangible feedback based on results to improve product quality and mitigate risk of product failure.
Leads engineering and customer feedback for supplier products; communicates and collaborates with management, both internal HP, and Suppliers.
Work with manufacturing and partners to develop and implement changes to product or process to reduce defects, improve quality, and lower costs.
Drives innovation and integration of new supplier technologies and company quality initiatives into product design and manufacturing.
Perform scheduled HP quality audits.

Individuals who do well in this role at HP, usually possess:

Bachelor’s degree in Materials or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent.
2-4 years of working experience in the relevant field.
Experience with flexible packaging films and lamination films industry would be a bonus
Knowledge in Part Specifications – part dimensions standards and tolerances
Control plan and FMEA
Change management process and documentation of implementation
Knowledge of failure analysis methods
Experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
Ability to interface with internal and external stakeholders.
