Job Description:
What a Procurement Engineer does at HP:
- Manages global engineering relationship with one or more key suppliers of external components and materials for the development and manufacturing of a product.
- Reviews and evaluates supplier designs, processes, and activities for compliance with Company manufacturing guidelines, quality processes, and standards.
- Provides tangible feedback based on results to improve product quality and mitigate risk of product failure.
- Leads engineering and customer feedback for supplier products; communicates and collaborates with management, both internal HP, and Suppliers.
- Work with manufacturing and partners to develop and implement changes to product or process to reduce defects, improve quality, and lower costs.
- Drives innovation and integration of new supplier technologies and company quality initiatives into product design and manufacturing.
- Perform scheduled HP quality audits.
Individuals who do well in this role at HP, usually possess:
- Bachelor’s degree in Materials or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent.
- 2-4 years of working experience in the relevant field.
- Experience with flexible packaging films and lamination films industry would be a bonus
- Knowledge in Part Specifications – part dimensions standards and tolerances
- Control plan and FMEA
- Change management process and documentation of implementation
- Knowledge of failure analysis methods
- Experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
- Ability to interface with internal and external stakeholders.
