Job Description:

What a Procurement Engineer does at HP:

  • Manages global engineering relationship with one or more key suppliers of external components and materials for the development and manufacturing of a product.
  • Reviews and evaluates supplier designs, processes, and activities for compliance with Company manufacturing guidelines, quality processes, and standards.
  • Provides tangible feedback based on results to improve product quality and mitigate risk of product failure.
  • Leads engineering and customer feedback for supplier products; communicates and collaborates with management, both internal HP, and Suppliers.
  • Work with manufacturing and partners to develop and implement changes to product or process to reduce defects, improve quality, and lower costs.
  • Drives innovation and integration of new supplier technologies and company quality initiatives into product design and manufacturing.
  • Perform scheduled HP quality audits.

 

Individuals who do well in this role at HP, usually possess:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Materials or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent.
  • 2-4 years of working experience in the relevant field.
  • Experience with flexible packaging films and lamination films industry would be a bonus
  • Knowledge in Part Specifications – part dimensions standards and tolerances
  • Control plan and FMEA
  • Change management process and documentation of implementation
  • Knowledge of failure analysis methods
  • Experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Ability to interface with internal and external stakeholders.
