What you’ll be doing…

Assisting with the provision of information to indirect tax outsourcers for Brazil and other countries in LATAM on a timely basis, resolving queries and generally enabling Verizon to meet its requirement to file all tax returns on a timely basis to a high standard.

Assisting with processing journals and payment requests generated by our indirect tax outsourcer for Brazil and other countries in LATAM, working with other teams within the LATAM Regional Hub and Verizon internationally to ensure that all items are completed on a timely basis to a high standard.

Working with the LATAM Finance hub, assisting with provision of information to our direct tax outsourcers to prepare corporate and deferred tax provisions and calculation and payment of preliminary corporate tax liabilities.

Working with the LATAM Finance hub, assisting with provision of information to our direct tax outsourcers to prepare our annual corporate tax and associated filings, including the co-ordination of any associated tax payments, generally enabling Verizon to meet its requirement to file all tax returns on a timely basis to a high standard.

Assisting with processing journals and payment requests for all LATAM direct taxes, working with other teams within the LATAM Regional Hub and Verizon internationally to ensure that all items are completed on a timely basis to a high standard.

Assisting with the timely completion of direct and indirect tax GL account reconciliations.

Working with the LATAM Finance hub, assisting with provision of information to our transfer pricing outsourcers to meet all transfer pricing related documentation requirements.

Assisting with direct and indirect tax audits in the region.

Assisting in the identification and implementation of process improvements for the provision of data and other matters as they arise.

Working with other Verizon teams on ad hoc projects as requested.

What we’re looking for…

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Four or more years of relevant work experience in a tax related area.
  • Large or medium size company tax & accounting experience, in house or as part of a global accounting company.
  • Working knowledge of accounting systems and applications such as SAP.

 

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Tax, Business, Accounting, or Finance.
  • Fluent in English, Spanish, and, Portuguese.
  • Good team, organizational planning skills, sound judgment, calm but work with a high sense of urgency, attention to detail, and strong time management.
